Dr Marcus Davenport Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Melbourne

Your First Appointment

Your initial consultation with Dr Marcus Davenport is an opportunity to discuss your pregnancy, gynaecological concern or reproductive health goals in a relaxed and supportive environment. Marcus takes time to understand your medical history, current symptoms and personal circumstances before recommending a tailored management plan.

What to Bring

To make the most of your first visit, please bring:

  • Your GP referral letter

  • Your Medicare card and private health insurance details

  • A list of any current medications, including supplements and vitamins

  • Any relevant previous test results, imaging or specialist letters

  • A list of questions or concerns you would like to discuss

  • You’re welcome to bring a support person (a partner, family member or friend) to your appointment.

If you have had previous pregnancies, obstetric care or gynaecological procedures, please bring any relevant documentation or ask your GP to forward your records prior to your appointment.

What to Expect at your Consultation

Marcus will begin by taking a thorough history, asking about your symptoms, menstrual and reproductive history, relevant medical conditions and family history. Depending on the reason for your visit, a physical or pelvic examination may be recommended. Marcus will always explain what is involved and why before proceeding, and your comfort and consent are paramount.

Following your consultation, Marcus will discuss his assessment and outline the options available to you, including any further investigations such as blood tests or ultrasound. You will never feel rushed to make a decision. Marcus believes in giving his patients the time and information they need to feel confident in their care.
